Wall boards in pleated look
The side table PLISAGO already shows that porcelain can do more than just fine tableware. As a further product in the series, matching wall boards made completely of high-quality porcelain are available - again in collaboration with the Besau-Marguerre studio. This extravagant design is a further step in the world of interior design.
The striking pleated look of the side table is continued in the PLISAGO wall board, thus creating a harmonious connection between form and material in the room. With their unique designs, FÜRSTENBERG and the duo Eva Marguerre and Marcel Besau, who have already worked as interior designers for the Hamburg Elbe Philharmonic or furniture brands such as THONET and E15, bring the elegance and sophistication of porcelain into modern living worlds. The side table PLISAGO was awarded the German Design Award 2019 in gold in the category Furniture.

PLISAGO is a genuine innovation in interior design, and not just for the extravagant porcelain design. The unique character of the creation of this design in the interplay between material, form and function is in no way inferior to the actual objects.
The elaborate design demands absolute precision in production. The
pleated, textile-like structure of PLISAGO as well as the matt glaze
form an attractive contrast to the diamond-cut top of both the side
table and the wallboard. With the experience of more than 270 years of
craftsmanship with the sophisticated material, FÜRSTENBERG took up the
challenge of the unique designs of the Hamburg designers.
The side table as well as the wall board PLISAGO are interior objects in which the form represents the decoration and the decoration the form: a three-dimensional pleated fabric determines the entire design.
"We want to show the softness, the poetic, the delicate, the sensual, the vulnerable of porcelain and have therefore given our side table and wall boards a textile soft character, pleated fabric combines these aspects", the designer duo Eva Marguerre and Marcel Besau explains their designs.
Studio Besau-Marguerre is the name behind which lie the two creative minds of Eva Marguerre (*1983) and Marcel Besau (*1980). After studying product and communication design in Karlsruhe and Wuppertal, in May 2011 the pair founded their own interdisciplinary design studio in Hamburg, where their repertoire has encompassed not only interior design but also visual communication, editorial design and styling.
The pair’s joint design approach leads to extraordinary, innovative ideas and products, in which they frequently combine the experimental use of unconventional materials with a striking colour scheme. Even though still at an early stage in their careers, Eva Marguerre and Marcel Besau have already celebrated some considerable successes, having been nominated for numerous international design awards and selected by the German Design Council in 2014 as one of five Newcomer finalists. They have also appeared at prestigious trade fairs and exhibitions in Germany and abroad.
