The small, officially recognized resort Fürstenberg lies at the edge of the Solling-Vogler nature park on the eastern bank of the Weser, directly on the German Fairy-Tale Route with its enchanting buildings from the era of the Weser Renaissance. In addition to the bike trails running parallel to the Weser, the stretch from Hamlin to Bad Karlshafen can also be traveled on the steamship of the Flotte Weser company. It's only a hop, skip and a jump from the manufactory's castle to the next castle: The former Closter Corvey, founded in the year 822 by Ludwig dem Frommen (Ludwig the pious), lies before the gates of the town Höxter on the river Weser, about 8 km from Fürstenberg and about 10 km from Holzminden.
